We derive every displayed price from three independent inputs.
1. Spot price The international spot price of gold (XAU/USD) is fetched every minute from health-ranked institutional providers. Failed providers are demoted automatically until they recover.
2. Foreign exchange FX rates are fetched from independent providers on the same cadence. We use mid-market rates unless a page explicitly labels otherwise.
3. Local retail price Local retail values are computed inside the application:
- Convert USD-per-troy-ounce into per-gram
- Multiply by the purity factor (24K = 0.9999, 22K = 0.9166, and so on)
- Multiply by the target weight (gram, tola, ounce, kilogram, baht…)
- Convert into the local currency at the current FX rate
Every figure is a pure spot-derived value. Local retail prices in shops include dealer premium, VAT/GST and — for jewellery — making charges on top of this base.
